I am disappointed that VP elect Joe Biden got a puppy from a breeder instead of a shelter. Millions of dogs are killed every year in shelters for lack of homes. He could have set an excellent example and saved one of these dogs from more time in the shelter followed by death. Not only could he have saved one puppy, but there would have been a ripple effect from his influence as well. This could have been a great way to publicize this huge, inhumane, costly and human-caused problem. Bummer.
